Armed Forces Day 2016 - Banbury Town

Banbury celebrated the inaugural Armed Forces Day today (Saturday) with a daylong show at Spiceball Park.

Despite the rain, people made their way to Spiceball Park to show their support for our Armed Forces.

The event, organised by Banbury Town Council, featured the world famous Band of the Royal Artillery for the Trooping the Colour, together with 42 Vehicle Squadron, Air Training Corps, Sea Cadets and veterans. This was then followed by Beating the Retreat with The Royal Artillery Band.

Also taking part in the arena entertainment during the day were the Air Training Corps Band, Army Cadet Force with a Battle Re-enactment, Banbury Sea Cadets with a boat rigging exercise and the Army Cadet Force with a Drill Lesson which the public were invited to join in.

Around the arena there were dozens of military displays, vehicles and demonstrations including a robotic bomb disposal team and the Royal British Legion.
