Witness appeal following assault in Banbury

Thames Valley Police is appealing for information after a man was slapped in the face by a woman at Peoples Park in Banbury.

At about 1am on Sunday 19 June, the victim entered People’s Park via the Church House entrance and walked through the middle of the park. At the memorial in the middle of the park, the victim was confronted by a woman who assaulted him by slapping him in the face.

The woman then walked off towards Bath Road with another man and a small white dog.

The victim did not sustain any injuries.

Investigating officer, PC Dean O’Dell of Force CID based at Banbury police station, said: “We would urge anyone who might have witnessed the incident in People’s Park to please contact Banbury police via the Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.”
