A large crowd is expected to be at St Mary’s Church, Banbury, on Thursday evening (25/08) for a Questions and Answers event on the future of the Horton General Hospital in Banbury.

The Q&A event on the future of the Horton Hospital has been organised by Victoria Prentis MP and the Banbury Town Council. The event will be chaired by Rev Philip Cochrane, the Vicar at St Mary’s. All are welcome.

During the questions and answers session, each opposing side will have two panellists. Paul Brannan and David Smith from the Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group will be defending the decision to down grade the hospital services. The former Horton consultant, Dr Peter Fisher and Keith Strangwood will be on the Save Our Horton team challenging the proposals.

The event which starts at 7pm will give members of the public an opportunity to ask questions to panellists. This could be your last opportunity to make your views heard before the Trust makes their final decision on the future of our maternity unit on the 31st August (just one week from now).

Please email Victoria Prentis your questions by Wednesday 24th August to make sure that your views are heard. Victoria Prentis has already received numerous questions, a selection of which will be put to the panel.

Please also email your questions to the independent chair, Rev. Philip Cochrane . He has agreed to take all questions that come to him.

The final decision about which questions will be asked on the evening will be made by Rev Philip Cochrane.

This events follows the successful ‘Hands Around the Horton’ protest last Sunday (21/08), which saw thousands of people link hands to demonstrate their support for the Horton and to say “Hands of our Horton’.
