13 year old girl from Banbury charged with assault

A 13-year-old girl from Banbury, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with one count of assault by beating. The charge is in connection with an incident on 15 May in Banbury when a 12-year-old girl was assaulted in a park in Banbury.

Police became aware of the assault after a video was shared on social media.

She was arrested on 16 May and charged on 10 June. She is due to appear at Banbury Magistrates’ Court on 30 June.

The anonymity of those involved is protected by law as court proceedings are now active
