TV broadcaster John Craven OBE visited the Radio Horton studios at the Horton General Hospital in Banbury today.

Radio Horton announced today (Sunday 10th July) that TV presenter John Craven OBE of much loved BBC programmes Countryfile and Newsround is the station’s new President.

While at the Horton Radio studios, he cut the ribbon to officially open the re-named studios. He also cut the station’s 52nd birthday cake and presented various awards together with Jeremy Wilton to some of the volunteers who make the station possible.

The two studios have been re-named after the two original founders of the station, Ted Hanson MBE and Graham Wilton. Studio 1 and 2 are now the Wilton Studio and the Hanson Studio respectively.

Jeremy Wilton, the son of Graham Wilton has also been named as Vice-President of the station that his father jointly founded on the 7th July 1964.

Various awards were presented including The Wilton Award to Mrs Ray Kent for her outstanding contributions to the station.
