Refugees found in back of lorry on M40

Eleven refugees have been removed from the back of a lorry by Thames Valley Police.

Thames Valley Police received a report at 13.01 on Wednesday (15/02) claiming to have seen a hand appearing from the trailer of the LGV.

The police stopped the vehicle on the M40 between Junctions 9-10.

Following inspection of the trailer, police found 11 persons who they described as refugees entering the UK illegally.

Thames Valley Police confirmed that the persons were transferred to TVP accommodation before being handed to UK immigration officers who process any requests for asylum or look to remove them.
