Serious road traffic collision this morning in Cropedy

Thames Valley Police is appealing for information about a person who may have been injured in a collision in Cropredy, near Banbury.

 

Fire Crews and Roads Policing officers attended this serious road traffic collision involving two vehicles this morning in Oxhey Hill, Cropedy.

Faced with a challenging extrication and a seriously injured casualty the Fire and Rescue Service worked to rescue the trapped driver. Once freed the driver was transported to hospital by Air Ambulance

A man, who was wearing a high visibility jacket, is believed to have left the scene of the collision.

Sgt Mark Scully, from the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing, said: “I would like to trace the person who left one of the vehicles as soon as possible as he may have serious injuries which require medical attention.

“I would particularly appeal to anyone in the area of Cropredy and near the A423 to contact police if you see anyone matching the description of the man.”

Anyone who witnessed the collision should contact the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101 quoting URN 197 24/1.
