Bakergirl to close Bakery and Coffee Shop

Banbury’s artisan baker and coffee shop is to close its doors at the end of Saturday 29th April.

Based in a refurbished 200 year old barn at Wykham Park Farm, Bakergirl has been producing authentic products, real bread and it’s locally famous Cinnamon-Buns for nearly 3 years. They have created a destination much loved by people in Banbury and the surrounding villages.

Sharon & Sarah from Bakergirl said “We have more than exceeded anything we could have ever have dreamed of during this time. When we started our journey we never expected to have had the support and encouragement that you have shown us, not to mention the demand.

Our lease expires here at the end of the summer and in order for us to develop our future plans for Bakergirl we need some time before then. We understand that this may come as a shock – but as an independent business with both of us fully committed day to day – we do not have the capacity to develop the “what’s next” unless we close a few months early.

However, it’s not all sad news – during the next few months Sarah (your baker) is going to be offering the bread making classes we always planned to do but could never find the time to fit in! If you would like to take part please send us your email details via our website or mail us at info@bakergirl.co.uk so we can update you as to what classes we will be offering and when. More details will come soon through social media.

Finally we would like to thank you – from all of the Bakergirl team – for your continued support, trust and encouragement – and let’s face it, patience with some of those queues – and look forward to seeing you here on a bread course or welcoming you to our next Bakergirl in what we hope will be the near future.”
