Armed Robbery in Banbury

Last Saturday (30th July) the Post Office on Horton View in the Easington area of Banbury was involved in an armed robbery.

At about 3.20pm yesterday an offender entered the Easington Post Office and threatened staff with what appeared to be a black handgun. A quantity of cash was handed over to the offender, who then made off on foot.

It’s believed that no one was hurt during the incident, according to one local resident who was talking to the police.

The area around the Post Office is currently barricade taped off by the police who are asking all the local neighbours for information. The Police acted quickly to get their Police helicopter in the air.

Man charged with Armed Robbery

Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a man has been charged in connection with an armed robbery in Banbury.

At about 3.20pm on Saturday an offender entered the Easington Post Office and threatened staff with what appeared to be a black handgun.

A quantity of cash was handed over to the offender, who then made off on foot.
Danny Walsh, aged 25, of no fixed abode was yesterday arrested in connection with the offence.

Last night he was charged with one count of robbery and one count of possession of a firearm.

Walsh is due to appear at Banbury Magistrates’ Court today.
