Between 12.05pm and 12.10pm on Monday (8/8), the victim, an 18-year-old boy, was walking through Trinity Park, Banbury when he heard shouting. The victim turned around and was sprayed in the face with an unknown substance.
The victim fell to the floor and while on the ground felt someone going through his pockets.
The victim’s phone and money was stolen.
The victim sustained minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.
There is no description of the offenders at this stage.
Investigating officer PC Bryan Groves, from Banbury Local CID, said: “The victim in this case has been left very shaken due to the nature of the incident. We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed either what happened or who has seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time of the robbery.
“If anyone has information I would urge them to contact Thames Valley Police on our non emergency number 101.”
